In Det evige, omskiftande, Ingeborg Blom Andersskog, Henrik Koppen, and Mari Norddahl explore how processes such as repetition, decay, and transformation can function as artistic methods. Through sculpture, performance, and textile, they invite the audience into a sensory world where the ephemeral is placed in relation to time, material, and human longing.
The exhibition is a meeting point between body, imagination, and matter, where materials such as plaster, clay, and plant-dyed textiles not only function as media but as active participants in a process in which time, decomposition, and the miraculous are given their own voice. The works invite reflection and sensory experience, challenging us to consider our relationship to the material in a culture marked by overconsumption.
All three artists have their education from the Bergen National Academy of the Arts (now KMD) and began their collaboration with the project Skylle, samle, kverne, slipe, shown in a boathouse in Velsvika on Sunnmøre in the summer of 2016. In 2024, they presented the exhibition Det langsame, morknande at Galleri Christinegaard in Bergen. Det evige, omskiftande at Skiens Kunstforening builds on this collaboration, focusing on the ephemerality of materials and the extent of human influence.
